DevOps Engineer (for our BGC Taguig Site)
The DevOps Engineer position owns and performs all Application Engineering duties in support of Request for Service projects and hardening production environments. Duties include developing self-healing and monitoring as well performing installation, configuration, troubleshooting of application servers (Microsoft Dynamics AX, ConnectShip, SSRS) and web servers (DAX Services, Enterprise Portal).
Key Accountabilities:
Resolves issues escalated from users of Dynamics AX (2009, 2012, & Dynamics 365 versions), ConnectShip, SSRS
Diagnose and resolve technical problems at the individual and system levels
Drive root cause analysis for critical incidents
Analyze, identify, document, and deploy application monitoring requirements
Application analysis, planning, and deployment
Understand business requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
Evaluate applications and application functions to determine if they fulfill operation requirements
Analyze existing and new applications to identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and availability
Work on undocumented incidents
Develop tools/processes to speed up incident resolution
Perform proactive and reactive problem management
Perform complex changes
Maintain global view and an active participating role in all portfolio and operation activities
Active participation in portfolio delivery model including all changes and releases
Document, develop, and transition critical validation paths for operational support
Develop knowledge of portfolios and transfer to operations
Provide view of all operational aspects of the applications within the global portfolios, i.e., monitoring dashboards, report generation, and etc.
Guardians of all global applications on going availability, stability, growth, and enhancements
On-call coverage/Rotation
Project Management - Able to take large projects, create project plans, coordinate with the Project Manager and manage timelines.
Identify skills gaps and take control on his own growth by self-training, getting the right tools and highlighting opportunities in skills that’s needing assistance for growth.
Maintain proficiency in the application and use of tools within the department
Effectively communicates the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to the Manager, internal Business, and Project Stakeholders
Escalate issues to the Manager and/or Sr. manager in a timely and appropriate manner
Support DevOps team members’ growth and grooming and serve as escalation to all DevOps members.
Oversee overall operations and ability to highlight critical items on ongoing Projects, Incidents, Changes, Problems and create action plans for next steps and formulation of solutions.
Participate on the design of projects prior to Development and Influence Supportability and Production Efficiency of the product.
Create a collaborative relationship with Architects, Project Managers, Stakeholders and Lead Developers in the intent to influence Solutions, Designs that is beneficial to the Production Environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /Information Systems/Management/Engineering (or related field)
Experience supporting and maintaining one or more of the following applications:
ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems
CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Systems
Supply Chain Management
Cloud Platforms (AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure)
Azure DevOps (version control, reporting, requirements management, project management, automated builds, lab management, testing and release management capabilities)
Web Portals
IIS
NET Framework
Windows 2008, 2012, and 2016 Servers
C#, PowerShell, and/or Python
Knowledge of SQL (MS SQL, T-SQL, Azure SQL, SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), and/or SQL Server Management Studio)
PRTG and/or Nagios Monitoring Solutions
1-2 years infrastructure and Operations experiences
Experience in working on actual Large Enterprise Projects
Experience in promoting improvements on Systems and Applications from previous role
Development experience on a DevOps Role or a Dev Role is preferred
Experience troubleshooting system/application and TCP/IP problems
Experience providing application support in a large company
Technical writing documentation
Infrastructure Performance Tuning
Microsoft Dynamics AX experience is a plus
Experience with other Microsoft tools (SSRS, SSAS)
Experience with MS SQL Server database (2008 or higher)
Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Knowledge of current principles, practices and techniques of systems analysis.
Knowledge of technical developments and trends in application analysis
Knowledge of technical and business writing.
Ability to diagnose application problems quickly.
Ability to apply technological concepts and tools within established periods.
Ability to prepare documentation, charts, and graphs pertinent to work assignments.
Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely in understandable form, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the business community, vendors, customers, and coworkers.
