About the Position
Two positions are available for experienced counsellors to provide culturally secure, trauma informed counselling and casework to people with a disability and their families and carers.
Conduct initial assessments of individuals and/or family needs.
Collaborate or refer to appropriate services such as housing, mental health, financial and aged care services to provide social and practical support to clients.
Provide trauma informed counselling appropriate for people with disability, including those with more complex needs.
Undertake clinical supervision.
Participate in team meetings.
Contribute to the development and implementation of team action plans.
Maintain a client caseload.
Maintain client information and case notes on team database.

The successful candidate will have
A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling with supervised clinical experience.
Experience providing culturally secure, trauma informed counselling to people with a disability who have been affected by trauma and abuse.
Understanding of issues experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Ability to engage and build strong relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders.
A valid drivers licence.
Current Working With Children Check
Police Clearance
