The role:
Account Manager – Japan
STR is a leader in global hotel benchmarking, and you will lead our account management in Japan. As the custodian of our Japanese client relationships, you develop and support our clients in helping them maximise their performance insights through STR data whilst protecting our data integrity and quality.
You will be responsible for managing, building and retaining relationships with clients in Japan but also elsewhere in Asia Pacific. As in regular contact with clients (both external and internal) strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are required in Japanese and English. As our reports are produced to a specific timetable, you will need to be highly organised in your approach to work, with an ability to prioritise tasks and follow through. You will be able to manage a variety of tasks to a high standard, often within tight deadlines.
Being highly organised and having attention to detail is essential in supporting the regional team to facilitate varied engagement activities with existing and prospective accommodation and industry clients. To be successful you will need to be confident in dealing with numbers and have a strong eye for detail, an understanding of hotel performance statistics is essential. Prior experience in managing colleagues is desired with one direct report who specialises in day to day client support.

Key responsibilities are but not limited to:
Manage, retain and develop client relationships growing data and product use
Development of and implementation of strategic account management plans
Negotiate and renew client contracts
Maintain and update customer records through Salesforce CRM
On-board and educate existing and new clients of STR’s products
Manage incoming data to ensure high participation of subscribed properties
Represent STR at Client Meetings, Third Party and Industry Conferences including delivering market data trend presentations at client and industry events
Prerequisites for the role are:
Bilingual in Japanese and English (additional languages advantageous)
Proficient with Microsoft Office main applications
