The selected Young Professional will contribute to the design and implementation of the ADB Ventures TA program that will be expected to contribute to the following outcomes during 2020 and 2021: at least 10 new partnerships with business support providers and network partners, at least 4 ADB Ventures business support programs that generate 20-30 proof-of-concept (POCs) opportunities to pilot impactful technologies in emerging markets, and at least 10 of these POCs received grant funding to test deployment in emerging markets. The incumbent will report to the designated Senior International Staff and may supervise National and Administrative staff.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain partnerships with business support providers and network partners of ADB Ventures.
Support the design and implementation of ADB business support programs focusing on gender and climate impact.
Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of market pilots of technology solutions expanding to emerging markets supported through grant funding.
Support the ADB Ventures project lead and ADB Ventures TA program manager on ad-hoc and day-to-day ADB Ventures TA program operations, including preparation of briefing notes for ADB management and marketing/fund-raising materials.
Qualifications
Relevant Experience & Requirements
Master's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or relevant fields. Alternatively, university degree in related fields combined with additional relevant professional experience can be considered.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the impact investment industry and/or business support programs (e.g. incubator/accelerator programs) targeting early-stage companies is essential.
Experience of Southeast Asia and/or South Asia markets, climate and/or gender impact investment, focus sectors including cleantech/agritech/healthtech/fintech, would be advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
