Main functions & duties:
Read and interpret production plans, drawings or welding process specifications
Perform various operations such as drilling and screwing panels or other parts for assembly
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Check the conformity of the assembly before welding
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions
Weld plates from 1/16" to 8" single & multi-passes in various positions
Weld mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel
Work in collaboration with other departments: engineering, machining, painting, mechanic, etc.
Can work on press brake occasionaly
Possibility to work on site (ex: mining site)
Technical Skills:
Experience in using semi-automatic welding equipment and MIG procedures
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints and drawings
Millwright or mechanical experience
Ability to work on press brake
Ability to operate a forklift, overhead crane, scissorlift, skylift
Specific Skills:
