Basic FunctionAs Team Lead, Payroll of the Manila Operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing
the delivery of the team’s payroll responsibilities, including ongoing payroll report generation,
adjustment payroll report generation, quality assurance reviews, and scheduling, resource
management, and reporting and communication. You will serve as a point of escalation to the
Toronto Operations team and ensure that all target SLAs are met and payroll reporting is
performed accurately. You will constantly assess opportunities to improve the way the Manila
Operations team executes payroll reporting, and seek to design and implement new
processes to improve the workflow and ultimately improve SLAs and payroll report quality.
You will be responsible for using excel and other tools to improve reporting on payroll
processing, error rates and other matters to the Toronto Operations team.
You will also responsible for overseeing the team of Payroll Analysts in Manila, including
staffing and scheduling, resource management, coaching and mentoring. As the Manila team
continues to grow, you will be responsible for developing a robust onboarding and training
program to ensure new hires become effective as quickly as possible. You will be required to
work alongside the other Team Lead(s) of the Manila Operations team and streamline how
the team communicates and operates alongside the Toronto Operations team.
Education? 5 or more years of payroll reporting experience, preferably in the US and/or Canadian
health insurance industry
? 2 or more years of Team Lead experience or similar
? Advanced/expert MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, arithmetic formulas, Pivot Tables, Index
Match)
? Understanding of and experience in creating Visual Basic Macros considered an asset
? 1+ year of experience at a healthcare and/or start-up company preferred
Specific Duties and Responsibilities? Oversee the preparation and quality assurance of payroll reports with benefit
deductions for all clients on a weekly, bi-weekly or semi-monthly basis.
? Report on the current status of payroll reporting operations and QA procedures to the
Toronto Operations team on a periodic basis.
? Ensure that pre-defined SLAS for processing and delivering payroll reports is upheld
and improved where possible.
? Further develop robust processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and
effectiveness in which the Manila Operations team functions.
? Oversee the assessment and remediation of payroll and carrier invoice discrepancies.
? Manage and audit funding for taxable wellness spending accounts for US and
Canadian taxable benefits.
? Act as a point of escalation to the Toronto Operations team.
? Investigate, analyze and resolve issues in a timely manner.
? Perform ad hoc reporting requests.
? Assist with other tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications? 5 or more years of payroll reporting experience, preferably in the US and/or Canadian
