System GovernanceReview design, blueprints and specifications for projects, governed change requests and endorse all changes for area of responsibility prior to build
Provide engineer’s approval for all functional and technical changes to systems and platforms within area of responsibility prior to release to production as per change management processes. This includes changes resulting from break fix, change requests, and project requirements
Ensure all documentation is kept up to date and maintained to the required standard for all systems and platforms within area of responsibility. This includes design, functional configuration, technical configuration or development, testing and training documentation
Approve all pre-approved changes prior to build activities
Change & Lifecycle Management
Responsible for managing and implementing regular hardware/software/OS releases and upgrades to area of responsibility with the operational teams
Review vendor notifications on releases, coordinate and perform impact assessment and provide updates to appropriate stakeholders
Ensure appropriate communication to impacted business users and coordinate and perform testing and change management activities
Engineer support to Operational Teams
Provide SME advice and support to operational teams
Assist operational teams with escalations on incidents, service requests, problem and changes
Perform root cause analysis, assistance with post incident reviews and business impact validation for issues and incidents
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the functionality and business processes of Orica’s infrastructure
Generate reports as needed for data analysis and troubleshooting purposes
Asset & Security Activities
Provide input to the Asset specialist to ensure an accurate asset inventory
Stakeholder Engagement
Engagement with Infrastructure leads, engineers and operational staff to ensure alignment across functional areas
Liaise with IT PMO Lead and IT Project Managers and teams to provide advice in the development of solutions and plans
Collaborate with the Infrastructure teams to identify any interdependencies and/or application development needs to support infrastructure delivery
General
Maintain flexibility on working time to appropriately support the demands and issues of the day
Escalate potential issues and risks to line manager to ensure the timely and efficient resolution
Follow the IT and Business process governance framework and IT change management and service delivery processes
Ensure infrastructure delivery activities for areas of responsibility align to the IT design principles, IT strategy & architecture and business objectives
