Software Engineering Team Lead

As a software engineering team lead, you will be responsible for leading a lean software engineering team to deliver specific tasks, along with hands-on development.You’ll jump-start your career with us by taking ownership of these key responsibilities:1) Lead and drive delivery: This is a hands-on role where you will be working closely with our CEO and product development team to develop, test and deploy dynamic web-based solutions that are scalable and comply with security and privacy and regulations.+ You should be capable of setting clear guidelines for unit test & browser test, to reduce the frequency of bug fixing.+ You should be able to conduct effective peer code reviews & establish a codebase for the organisation.+ You should have prior experience in CI/CD & know how to build a parallel automated testing system for effective testing & deployment.2) Groom and lead high-performance development teams (… you will also play an integral role in the hiring and firing process & creating processes that will promote a culture of innovation and growth!)+ You should know how to organise our development resources effectively to meet the project’s deadlines (… this includes understanding the velocity of the development team & how to maintain the velocity).+ You should be able offer technical expertise throughout the entire SDLC, including mentoring & guiding the development team.+ You should know what to look out for during the hiring process, together with red flags associated with poor conduct & performance. 3) Define the technical vision and engineering roadmap for the organisation, including charting short-term milestones and long-term goals and strategies (… you will be placed in the driver’s seat where you can leverage on the power of technology to empower more students to learn Science easier, better and faster!)Minimum 3 to 5 years working experience as a full-stack web developer/ software engineerKnowledge in HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP and two or more web frameworks (MERN & LEMP stacks preferred)Experienced in automation tools and CI/CDPrior experience in agile development (... it's advantageous if you led the team as SCRUM master in your previous stints)Extensive software engineering experience for web-based applications in a fast-paced environmentGood understanding of databases & cloud-based infrastructure management
