We are an eCommerce tech startup based in Chicago. Our primary focus is our eCommerce tech platform currently under development. We are looking to bring on local team members to assist both onsite and remotely for our projects.
We are looking for an SEO specialist who uses research and analysis to improve a website's ranking on search engines like Google. They find the most popular and relevant keywords used in search engine queries and insert them into websites, helping search engines find those sites and display them to web users. SEO specialists that can work with our company to help achieve great results in terms ranking in Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines. They also have the ability to work with other related teams like Reputation and Social Media Management to promote the company as well as the CEO as we see fit.
This entry-level role would be ideal for someone with 0-1 years of professional experience in an office environment. A college degree is not required. We are looking for sharp individuals who are tech-savvy, have excellent written communication skills, and most importantly, eager to learn. An entrepreneurial mindset is a must. Opportunity to grow is possible for those who demonstrate themselves to be effective with their responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Recommend strategic changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords/search entities.
Research SEO keywords to use throughout the company's website and marketing materials
Perform ongoing keyword research, track keyword trends, and contribute accordingly to content planning strategies.
Monitor daily performance metrics to understand SEO strategy performance
Write compelling and high-quality website content, including blog posts and page descriptions
Update content and website links for maximum optimization and search engine rankings
Work closely with content teams to support said strategies, and optimize existing content to reflect them.

Requirements
Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods
Experience with SEO industry programs, such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
Knowledge of keyword research and data mining tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (email, phone, etc.)
Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems
Experience with other aspects of marketing, such as customer growth and promotion, is a plus
One or more years of experience in successfully developing and executing SEO campaigns is a plus
