As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help set the direction of the design and development of our evolving ecosystem of high performing SaaS products in Arc XP. You will partner with product owners, architects, and Arc clients to build a world-class, bleeding-edge set of services focusing on video content management, live streaming, video editing, and video ad monetization. You will play a crucial role with opportunities to bring your unique ideas around development practices, testing, and deployment strategies to the table.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with team members to design and build world-class document storage, validation, retrieval, and querying capabilities.
Work with other engineering teams at Arc to understand their needs and build platform features that solve complex technical and workflow problems.
Support production applications using CI/CD practices such as automated builds, deployments and tests.
Implement and respond to production application monitoring.
Participate in team agile activities such as story refinement, work estimation, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, etc.
Share ideas and experiences, ask questions, and strive to remove ambiguity for both oneself and one’s team members.
Mentor team members in technological and industry best practices.
Evolve and grow personal proficiencies by learning new software languages, tools and applications.
What you need for this position
5+ years of experience with full stack software development
3+ years of experience working in an AWS environment
Experienced in building web-based, distributed, multi-tenant, and multi-tier applications using java and javascript.
Capable of designing, building, and testing web services and APIs.
Good knowledge of Spring, REST, Service Oriented Architecture, Docker, and container services.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into high-level designs and act as a subject matter expert in software design, architecture, implementation, deployment, and support across our full platform
Proficient in SQL and relational database modeling
Knowledge of NoSQL, queues, caches is a plus
Strong understanding of AWS or other cloud technologies
Worked with CI/CD tools with an emphasis on building quality code and speed to market.
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as javascript and single page application frameworks and their interactions with APIs
