The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.
These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be involved in design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method
Evaluate new tools, new techniques, strategies; Automation of common tasks; build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities and opportunities to apply technology in new and innovative ways
Required Qualifications:
5-7+ years of experience in building and shipping production software in a scaled distributed environment
Experience in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience with Automated Test-Driven Development using tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, JUnit, Spock and other similar frameworks to verify code quality
Experience with SOAP and RESTful Web Services
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle like Agile/SCRUM, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Knowledge of a variety of modern programming languages (Java, Groovy, JavaScript), open-source technologies (Java EE, Java FX, Spring, Springboot, ORM (Hibernate, MyBatis), AngularJS, JQuery, KAFKA, OpenShift/AWS), and database technologies (Oracle/MySQL), NoSQL, Jenkins, Maven
Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment Strategies
Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)
Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical colleagues
Desire to continuously improve and evolve all aspects of the work environment
Passion for automation and simplicity
