Senior Software Developer

Allied World Healthcare is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Senior Developer to join a small and productive team delivering web and android apps to support our healthcare mission. The solutions use a range of technologies including couchbase, express, angular and Node.js. We are also using other open source components to accelerate delivery and a knowledge of Docker containers is an advantage. We are implementing a (micro)service based architecture and will soon need to start considering integration with systems outside AWH using products like HAPI or Mirth. AWH is already developing an implementation team outside Philippines and the successful applicant will need to be able to work with international teams. The successful applicant will more than 5 years experience with several years in lead roles in system development. They need to be able to communicate in English and local language.The ideal candidate will have:5+ years’ experience in Java and Java script development with several in lead roles;Ability to communicate with developers and non-technical persons in the organisation;Appreciation of the need for design and assurance in a fast-moving organisation;Experience of containerisation and the need for this in modern environments;Experience of the need for security and data privacy;Knowledge in a selection of the following and prepared to learn others as required:Cloud platformsJavascript application and database operationWebserversCommercially secure communicationsWebsite / API securityMobile integration and secure operationContainerisation (docker)Release Management and DeploymentAbility remote work as a leader of virtual teams;Knowledge of healthcare systems and/or technology is an advantage;Working knowledge of Tagalog and English is a strong advantage, as well as any other regional dialects/languages;Strong team working skills and flexibility to work as part of a small-but-growing team in a dynamic way as occasional flexibility is required to support field operations.
