Network Specialist Responsibilities: The Senior Network Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure.
This role ensures network security, performance, and reliability while supporting business operations and IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
Implement security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
Manage network hardware such as routers, switches, and load balancers.
Collaborate with IT teams to support applications, cloud services, and remote access.
Perform network capacity planning and upgrades.
Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Provide technical support and mentorship to junior network staff.
Deliver resolutions within SLA.
Handle incidents, troubleshoot, and resolve complex real-time issues.
Interact with client technology teams, ISPs, vendors, and service partners during incidents and new implementations.
Follow ITIL practices and ensure compliance adherence.
Create and update procedure documents and knowledge bases.
Technical Skills: Aruba/Cisco/Dell L2 Switches, L3 Switches, Router, IP addressing/Subnetting, VLAN, SDWAN, Routing OSPF, RIPv2, BGP, WAN Technology (MPLS, VPLS, IPSec VPN), Wireless Controllers, Wireless APs.
Hands-on experience with network security protocols and tools.
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
CCNP certification is a must; ARUBA/CCIE is desired.
