SUMMARY
The Engineer works at the highest systems level to provide advice and direction to users, management and IT project teams for systems that are complex in nature. Evaluates new technologies and develops departmental standard practices. Is able to engineer platform upgrades and large scale system integrations. Is recognized as a technical leader within the department and organization, with emphasis on the Citrix environment. Has the ability to demonstrate breadth of knowledge across multiple areas of information technology. The candidate may be a key team member on strategic or enterprise-wide technology projects or issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work on projects as subject matter expert on Citrix platforms Design, Implementation and Support of:
A multi-farm highly available Citrix XenApp 6.5/7.5 environment. Citrix Xen Desktop 5.6/7.5
AppSense 8.3 Environment and Application Manager
Provisioning Services 6.1/7.1
NetscaferGateway 10.1, Web Interface 5.4 and Storefront
Document all operational processes and procedures to manage all aspects of the deployed systems:
Create System Run Books, defining day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting knowledgebase of the infrastructure.
Strategy/roadmpdevelopment and presentation:
Develop strategic roadmaps.
Create and deliver presentations to management.
3rd Level on-call support/Operations escalation:
Participate in on-call rotation escalation support for operations team.
Provide 3rd level support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis. Troubleshooting Includes, but is not limited to; isolating problems, recommending proper solutions and implementing solutions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
4 year college degree
Minimum 5 years’ experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop In a 1000+ session environment,
Knowledge and experience with XenApp farm migration and upgrades.
Knowledge and experience with load testing methodologies to properly size Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop
Knowledge and experience with Profile management suite implementation: AppSense, Citrix Profile Manager.
Knowledge and experience with Citrix server build standards, automation and provisioning. Knowledge and experience with provisioning services and virtuafizing Citrix servers.
Knowledge and experience with implementing a remote access solution using Citrix Netscaler Gateway.
Knowledge and experience with Windows Terminal Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and Group Policy.
Knowledge and experience with relevant networking specifications, Including but not limited to TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.
Strong Scripting: PowerShell, VBScript, MFCOM.
Knowledge of Windows Registry, Profile Management and Application Packaging. • Knowledge of CIFS and Client.
Strong understanding of Citrix ICA client types PN, Client, Web, Wyse.
Strong understanding of applications integration in a Windows Terminal Server environment. Strong understanding of session printing and Citrix policies.
Strong troubleshooting mindset (eventlog parsing, procmon, fiddler, dump analysis). Strong understanding of project management methodologies and processes.
Ability to establish best practices for monitoring and forecasting of system/application capacity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to present effectively to technical and management teams.
Must be able to lead technical meetings and discussions.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Must be able to effectively manage relationships with Internal and external partners.
Excellent people skills with ability to handle difficult personnel situations
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
CCEA and MCSE or MCITP required.
