Resident Naturalist

Job Description:
The Resident Naturalist at Masungi Georeserve will spearhead research and education efforts of the organisation for guests, communities, students, park rangers and conservationists.


He or she will take the lead in the following tasks and work closely with the board of trustees:


Consistently improving, updating and innovating the content of georeserve experiences and spiels such as the Discovery Trail and Legacy Trail Creating new programs that aim to educate different sectors on environmental conservation and sustainable development including school visits, learning camps, research work, intership programs and community campaigns Working with experts and scientists to support and establish research that supports the conservation of the Masungi landscape and the larger Masungi Geopark Project Liasing with leaders, local governments, communities, schools and other stakeholders in promoting environmental conservation and collaborations Training and development of park rangers and community members This role is based on site at Masungi Georeserve along Marcos Highway, about one hour from Metro Manila. Candidates from nearby locations are encouraged to apply. Housing options can be discussed subject to georeserve policies and individual needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
In-depth interest and knowledge of the local environment and conservation; Passion for environmental education and storytelling; Strong interpersonal communication skills; Leadership and management skills; Can work independently wiht minimal supervision; Thrives in working outdoors and in communities.
