Job Description Job Description The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance (QA) Specialistis to execute food safety programs at Slaughtering and meat cutting plant, which include daily pre-operation inspections, quality checks, food safety training, GMP & SSOP completion, HACCP coordination, monitoring & verification of CCPs. The QA Specialistalso ensures that the meat products, processes and services meet the desired quality levels at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Assurance on Meat Operations
1.implement and maintain all corporate food safety related strategies, policies and procedures; maintain open communication with all related departments to address the identification of food safety hazards and process improvement opportunities
2. Manage HACCP Plan and pre-requisite programs.
3. Perform HACCP monitoring to include but not limited to – concentration of chlorinated water solution monitoring, temperature monitoring, environmental monitoring and metal detection, and the sanitation program.
4. Work with Operations team to ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulatory requirements (5S/GMP, HACCP, and ISO).
5. Monitor and observe key associates' compliance on the food safety and quality assurance activities.
6. Use the document control system to collect, maintain and update corporate SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), policies and templates for all Food Safety related records
7. Conduct traceability during product recall process to ensure timely communication and execution of product recalls and completion of related documentation.
8. Ensure that Quality Assurance Systems in the Meat Laboratory are in place at all times.
9. Support meat product hold and release programs by ensuring product is not released without prior approval and documentation
12. Report quality issues.
13. Assist in customers and NMIS audits, customer complaint resolution and takes appropriate action promptly.
Other Tasks1.
1. The Quality Assurance Specialistactively participates in all company programs on quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility and risk management.
3. Performs other assigned related tasks as directed by the immediate superior.
Qualifications
- with a Bachelor's degree of Food Science/ Animal Science/ Biological Science / Microbiology or similar field
- with at least two-year experience in Food Manufacturing, Food Service Operations, Quality Assurance Control, or related discipline
- can demonstrate technical proficiency in the areas of food safety, food processing, sanitation and food regulations and policy
- with knowledge on product traceability, food safety, food micro and food defense
