Position Summary
The Solution Architect role within the delivery process is to fully understand customer business requirements and construct a solid architecture and technical solution around that requirement leveraging Software AG products. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification, capacity planning and/or design, implementation, testing methodology, and solution deployment. Viewed by customers as a highest degree of technical architecture and design expertise within the Software AG technologies, process and integration solutions space.
Essential Job Functions
Respond to the functional and business requirements and capabilities during project blueprint phase.
Listen, understand, and analyze the customer’s business requirements and compose, validate, and present the best possible Software AG solution.
Lead teams of consultant on implementation of solution. Ensure the developed solution fulfills the customer’s requirements.
Define customer’s target architecture that fulfills their business objectives. Work with customer’s architect or technical lead to structure the solution, define architecture blueprint, derive security measures, conduct capacity planning, etc., that meets the IT’s requirements.
Handle customer Technical Liaison
Establish trust relationships with customers and understand their objectives. Solicit and provide technical feedback from customers.
Participate in project meetings to serve as a liaison between customer and project development team.
Assist and prepare customer services proposals; participate in RFP process; and participate in the identification and development of sales opportunities.
Keep up to date with any new Software AG solutions across the business lines. Understand functionality and interoperability of Software AG components.
Exchange best practices and share knowledge within consulting team.

Skills and Experience
10+ years experience in IT system with 5+ years working on system architecture design on EAI, BPM & SOA related projects
Architect related certification would be an advantage
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with immediate client, supervisor and peers, as well as, presentation, organizational and planning skills.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to gain clients confidence and maintain a professional relationship with clients, peers and management.
Capable of acting as a team lead on certain projects and supervising multiple developers assisting them with the programming and analysis functions. Develop work plans for individual tasks; work with minimal direction.
Experience with an agile development methodology as well as participating in JAD sessions and performing user requirements definitions.
Demonstrated ability to present technology solutions to executive levels
Ability to define architecture, design and oversight of key national projects, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to field resources.
Able to work independently and multi-task while managing multiple customers at a time
Demonstrate a team attitude and leadership
Proven ability to manage time and deliver within deadlines
Understanding of Software AG’s webMethods Products (or equivalent such as Tibco, Mulesoft, Oracle Fusion, …) including internal Architecture, Integration, Business process management, Event Processing or API management with an ability to leverage these in the development cycle.
Ability to plan, architect and manage solutions to highly complex problems and challenges
Expert in providing best practices to customers and helping with IT Strategy and implementation planning – capacity, servers, deployment etc.
”Excellent” experience in practical architecture and design experience in Integration technologies
“Good” experience in Consulting management roles including, business development, mentoring, technology solutions development, basic marketing and relationship management
Understanding of business infrastructure technology, network architectures and distributed computing

Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field
