The project manager for PeaceConnect will be responsible for providing the day to day management, leadership and operation of the project and ensuring effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and overall implementation of the USAID-funded “Restoring Mutual Trust in Mindanao through People to People Engagement (PeaceConnect) Project” in coordination with local partners and stakeholders. S/he is responsible for ensuring compliance with donors and Asia Foundation regulations, agreement provisions, reporting and other deadlines and budgetary monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience: University degree in relevant courses (Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology and others). Master’s degree is desirable.
Experience in project monitoring, financial and grants management and budget control, strategic planning and managing development projects. Prior experience in managing USAID projects valuable.
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively increasing management responsibility in development projects or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least two (2) years of work experience related to restoring mutual trust through people to people engagement and local governance.
Prior experience in managing USAID-funded assistance projects. Experience in project monitoring, financial and grants management and budget control, strategic planning, and managing development projects.
Must have effective interpersonal and management skills proven through successful interactions with relevant stakeholders, partner organizations and local government units.
Excellent oral and written language skills, including ability to quickly synthesize complex technical and programmatic issues into concise communication and develop high quality reports based on USAID reporting guidelines.
Strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills and professional organizational abilities.
Strong track record of working independently and in a diverse team environment.
Knowledge of the programs and operations of The Asia Foundation or similar development organizations is a plus. Knowledge of USAID and/or other international donor agency programs and regulations preferred.
