Role Overview
The Program Manager is responsible for end to end delivery of one or more program of work. The role involves managing customer relationships, internal and external stakeholder communication, as well as providing program oversight across all projects and sub-projects within the program using structured project management processes. Each program of work generally consists of between 3 and 20 projects/sub-projects which may be aligned by customer, technology platform or a combination of both. The Program Director must ensure successful delivery of their program of work, including all sub components, in a dynamic and fast paced environment with tight timeframes. The successful candidate will have a proven track record managing complex, large projects/programs of work for large domestic or international organizations. He/She will have strong experience interacting with internal/external senior executives and working with project teams in geographically diverse locations. He/She will be able to demonstrate successful delivery of agreed requirements/scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives, managing risks/issues and changes whilst ensuring compliance to corporate project management governance frameworks.
Role Responsibilities
Manage the strategic aspects of large engagements, managing risk, working with stakeholders and management team to remove roadblocks and ensure successful delivery to meet business objectives
Manage multiple concurrent project teams in a complex, geographically diverse matrix organization to ensure requirements are gathered in a timely manner, working with the account management, product, engineering, development and operational support teams to map requirements to appropriate products and services and define the scope, schedule, budget and resource requirements for the projects within the program.
Manage the finances for all activities within the programme
Ensure regular communication with relevant stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring timely reporting of progress against plan
Ensure compliance of all projects within the program to process, policy and governance frameworks.
Consolidates pipeline forecasts for new work to be added to the program working with appropriate SMEs to analyze potential benefits, resourcing requirements and high level schedules to contribute to workslate prioritization activities.
Manage dependencies, constraints, risks, issues, changes within the program to ensure business objectives are met by mitigating risk and addressing issues in a timely manner.
Contribute towards project and program management best practices within the organization as an experienced and senior leader in this field.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
Bachelors’ or Masters’Degree in a relevant area
Project Management Qualification – PMP, Prince 2 or other relevant recognized project management qualification preferred.
Project / Program Management
A seasoned expert in project/program/portfolio management with at least 10 years’ experience managing complex projects in a matrix organization.
Experience working with an enterprise PMO and with well defined service delivery, project and product governance frameworks.
Leadership and Teamwork
The successful candidate will demonstrate achievements of excellence in all areas of business. They will be champions of change who effectively manage the implement new ideas.
An experienced team player comfortable working as part of a team on both client projects and internal initiatives, who values diversity and supports and solicits input from team members at all levels within the organization and encourages inclusion.
Client Management
5+ years’ experience managing engagements with senior client-side executes, building and maintaining relationships with outstanding customer management and communications skills to effectively manage customer expectations, deepen customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Demonstrated problem solving ability in dealing with and resolving complex project issues and communicating and agreeing resolutions both internally and with clients.
Industry Experience
10-15 years’ experience in technology, payment or financial services or demonstrable experience from other relevant industry.
Understanding of Software Development, Engineering, and Product Lifecycles;
Experience with service transition and operations
