Details of the offer

ManilaContractBackground You are invited to join a team of dedicated development professionals whose primary role is to support the Philippines to achieve the 2030 Agenda. As part of the UNDP team your focus will be to work with multiple stakeholders to find the country specific solutions that lead to the eradication of poverty and to ensure no one is left behind - and we reach those furthest behind first.
You will be confronted with diverse development challenges, including addressing basic development needs, supporting institutional transformations to enable sustainable development, and enabling rapid recovery from shocks, crises and conflicts by strengthening development pathways. These development challenges are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they often coexist, requiring tailored integrated solutions that can adequately address specific deficits and barriers.
We place a premium on national ownership in the analysis, design and implementation of solutions, as well as a partnership-based approach to leverage the range of skills and resources needed – public and private. We work closely with all stakeholders in society to find innovative solutions to old development problems.
UNDP is looking for individuals who have the analytical, planning and implementation capacities that can address links, choices and connections across many issues and sectors. We seek individuals who can apply global best practice to national contexts. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, motivated and committed to making a positive contribution to Development in the Philippines.
This position is located in the UNDP Programme Impact & Advisory Team in support of the Philippines Accelerator Lab initiative a new UNDP offering that builds on the latest thinking from the fields of complexity science, user-led innovation and collective intelligence to accelerate development impact. The lab network will surface and reinforce locally sourced solutions at scale while mobilizing a wide and dynamic partnership of actors contributing knowledge, resources and experience. The idea is to transform our collective approach by introducing new protocols, backed by evidence and practice, which accelerate the testing and dissemination of solutions within and across countries. This will enable the global community to collectively learn from local knowledge and ingenuity at a speed and at a scale that our societies and planet require. This will be achieved by: (i) building on locally-sourced solutions, finding things that work and expanding on them; (ii) rapid testing and iteration to implement what works and go beyond the obvious solutions; (iii) combining the best understanding, ideas and expertise to generate collective knowledge; and, (iv) accelerating progress by bringing expertise, creativity and collective intelligence to bear.
