Exciting and challenging position as Principal DBA Consultant playing a key role in a technical infrastructure team providing ongoing managed services as well as ad-hoc DBA requests to clients globally.
As part of the technical team, you will be in charge for providing advanced database services to our customers as a trusted and knowledgeable advisor. You will help us maintain and improve our database services for our planned maintenance as well as in our monitoring of customer databases.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade Oracle as well as SQL Server databases, which is an essential component of our customer’s Maconomy ERP implementation.
Maintain and further develop best practices for database maintenance and setup
Key role in the planning and execution of database maintenance for our System Administration Services customers
Review database related incidents with the team
Optimization and tuning of database performance
Responsible for building and maintaining monitoring database sensors in our PRTG monitoring setup
Serve primarily as a billable resource for technical consulting engagements
Communicate with clients to coordinate technical engagements and set engagement expectations
Work with client IT staff to complete technical engagements and transfer basic technical knowledge
Communicate with appropriate internal Deltek resources such as Project Managers, Delivery Directors, Technical Support, Developers and Account Managers to relay relevant information and issues regarding clients
In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical consulting services to implement, troubleshoot and support Deltek ERP applications.
Requires excellent communication skills including the ability to write well and interact with senior level employees at customer sites in a customer service oriented manner
Minimum 4 years of hands-on DBA experience preferably on Oracle databases
SQL Server work experience strongly preferred
Must be able to work well in a team environment
BS degree preferred but not required, 3-8 years of experience in technical consulting
Experience in working with overseas customers is an advantage
Working knowledge of MS Windows server is an advantage
The team covers 24x5 (Monday-Friday) so some flexibility in working hours is required
