Purpose

Responsibilities
- Works with contracts and proposals personnel to coordinate cross-functional team review of RFPs and participates in strategy discussions for proposals.
- Prepares proposals and revisions for the most complex opportunities, including global programs, stand-alone studies, and provide risk assessment evaluation.
- Draws from staff experience, previous studies and proposals, and other research to lead proposal generation.
- Consults with service area or therapeutic lead to develop tailored study execution strategy, as needed.
- Creates staffing models for proposals.
- Reviews and updates the internal budget in the budgeting tool for accuracy, ensures it meets client expectations, and assesses how the budget compares to other bids with similar expectations.
- Attends, presents, and defends proposals to senior management at bid review.
- Reviews client grid to determine appropriate mapping of hours for each associated task.
- Assists and provide feedback in the development and modification of global proposal tools (budget and text).
- Provides continued training and mentoring support to team members.
Education/Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years') or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and problem solve
- Expert knowledge of drug development process, FDA guidelines, GCP's
- Expert knowledge of clinical trial proposal process and budget management
- Expert knowledge of functional area project life cycle
- Proficiency in mathematics and expert working knowledge of budgets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proven flexibility and adaptability
- Expert knowledge and understanding of unitized grids, unit cost, unit drivers, and staffing requirements for clinical trials
- Working knowledge of budgeting tools and associated cost drivers
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent command of English language and grammar
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
