MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsibility to provide technical and repair work on machines, mechanical equipment, instruments and devices used in all WMD facilities.
2. Performs typical maintenance work that includes servicing and repairing machines, devices, instruments and equipment used in the operations of the plants such as monitoring, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and ground maintenance.
3. Maintains the efficiency of the WMD facilities by performing regular preventive maintenance.
4. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
5. Puts the company’s operating procedures and policies into practice
6. Does other related tasks as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATIONHas completed three years B.S.E.E or three year course in Electrical Engineering Technology or other applicable requirements for Registered Master Electrician (RME) licensure
Must have a PRC license as Registered Master Electrician (RME)
or
Has TESDA National Certification from an accredited school or training center with course work in Diesel Power Plant Maintenance (NC II), Industrial Automation Technology (NC II), Industrial Electrical Technology (NC II) or a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment is desirable.
Possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving recordKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Some knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of a wastewater treatment plant including nutrient removal and characteristics of effluent.
Some knowledge of methods and techniques of maintaining and repairing wastewater plant equipment, machinery and related facilities.
Some knowledge of lubricants used in plant equipment
Some knowledge of electrical codes.
Some knowledge of fundamentals of pipefitting and fabrication
Some knowledge of operational characteristics of maintenance equipment and tools
Some knowledge of metering and measuring devices related to wastewater
Some knowledge of occupation hazards and standard safety practices
Ability to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities including the installation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plant equipment and instrumentation.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks on plant equipment, machinery, instrumentation and related facilities.
Ability to interpret, explain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures
Ability to operate a variety of maintenance equipment in a safe and effective manner,
Ability to read, interpret and understand technical manuals, blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
Ability to work with Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
Ability to diagnose, trouble shoot, update and repair malfunctioning equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electrical equipment
Ability to operate office equipment including computers and supporting software applications
Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems
Ability to maintain detailed records and prepare clear and concise reports
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Required to travel to field locations
Combination of wastewater treatment plant, laboratory and office environments with occasional exposure to adverse weather and environmental conditions
Work environment requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE may include:
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat/cold environment
• Exposure to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles and infectious diseases,
• Works in high, precarious places,
• Works in close quarters or confined spaces,
• Works around moving mechanical parts,
• Exposure to moderate to high noise and vibration levels, and/or
• Exposure to electrical hazards.Required to perform moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; use of hands to conduct repair and maintenance activities and to use a variety of equipment; reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing; standing for prolonged periods of time
