Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies,all over the world.
The Planner and Estimator will be responsible for assisting the client in managing the planning, developing requirements, and estimating costs associated with facility requirements for repairs, alterations, and minor construction projects.
This is a work from home, short-term contract initially with the potential of longer engagement.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimate and schedules based on the inspection report prepared by engineering personnel on site
Provide budgeting and execution processes for various funding appropriations, i.e. NWCF, SRM, MILCON, BRACON, etc. to facilitate the successful execution of projects in accordance with the rules of each funding source
Develop and modify specifications, drawings, and layouts and generate graphic presentations using automated technology, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
Prepare drawings and/or sketches for required design intent documents, e.g., demolition/renovation plans, building system plans, etc.; space planning, equipment layout, construction sequencing, developing material estimates and specifications; reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings
Assist the development of performance work statements for the maintenance and repair of building systems and sustainment of facilities to be out-sourced or performed by in-house staff
Develop schedules for minor construction based on Navy regulations, building codes and UFC requirements
Perform services relative to interior spaces, space planning, and aesthetics, using knowledge of interior construction, building systems, and components, building codes, equipment, materials, and furnishings in order to enhance and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:
Degree in Engineering (any discipline) or Architecture
Understanding and experience with major construction trades, material takeoffs, basic design, estimating material take off, and/or construction management
Knowledgeable with MSWord, MS Excel and PowerPoint
Has experience working in military bases and was assigned to Cuba, preferred
Willing to be assigned in Subic, Zambales
