Job Summary

The territory for this role is our Southern Cleveland Region: Akron/Canton, Portage County, Medina, Dover. The person in this role would need to be local to the Cleveland/Akron area.

It's the expectation that the person in this role will spend 4 days per week out in the territory.

Promotes Cleveland Clinic's purpose of putting patient's first to deliver World Class Care and in alignment with the CCL Leadership. Accountable for the overall territory in generating new business revenue. Establishes long-term physician account relationships, develops and leads specific account strategies, managing all aspects of new sale activities, and account retention and growth.

This position is a base salary position and there is no commission structure.
Job Details

Responsibilities:
Promotes Cleveland Clinic's purpose of putting patient's first to deliver World Class Care and in alignment with the CCL Leadership.
Pro-actively generates new business opportunities.
Brings in the support and direction of the Medical Director, Division Administrator and Director of Sales and Outreach when needed.
Develops and maintains a high level of understanding of the Reference Laboratory product line and is able to promote CCL to target client within assigned territory.
Manages the sales process from initial opportunity through securing the client and ensuring a successful client conversion.
Plans overall sales and service activities effectively.
Develops and implements action plans to increase customer base, volume and market presence. Interfaces with Project Managers, Operations, and Marketing and Sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met on a timely base and for the purpose of coordinating all on going client retention and growth activities.
Contributes to sales meetings, presentations and attends training courses.
Develops and maintains knowledge and experience of relevant laboratory methods and technologies.
Adheres to the Cleveland Clinic rules and regulations (written or implied).
Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Medical Technology, Healthcare or related field required.

Certifications:
A valid driver's license (VDL) and a good driving record are required, along with the ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportations.
80% travel required.

Complexity of Work:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:
Three years in a laboratory of healthcare environment with demonstrated success in sales, marketing or customer service required.
An additional 4 years of experience in a laboratory environment with demonstrated success in sales, marketing or customer services may offset the Bachelor Degree requirement.
Must have excellent human relations, management and communications skills.
Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible and able to perform well within multifunctional environments and be customer-focused, Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.
Ability to function and work in a diverse work environment while adherence to Cleveland Clinic and CCL policies providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, information and professional manner.
Keeping a positive and courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions.
Keeping abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.
This position requires you to work from an office in your home located within territory assigned. 80% travel required.

Physical Requirements:
Travel is required.
Must have a valid driver's license with four or fewer points and be able to drive.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.
May require extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.
Must be able to walk to conduct client visits and to attend meetings; must have normal or corrected vision to normal range.
Ability to clearly communicate by phone and in person.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
