Job Objectives
Review and improve existing packaging designs.
Designs, test, and implement packaging designs that are an integral part of Pioneer’s Product Development process
Work with internal resources and packaging suppliers to achieve functional packaging goals.
Duties, Responsibilities and Authority
• Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
• Participates in the development of artworks - ensuring that all required GHS symbols are incorporated and dimensional specifications are correct.
• Analyze Pioneer products to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.
• Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation. Evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews.
• Participate in NPP team, to deliver new products to market.
• Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labour, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
• Work closely with product teams to optimize packaging supply base for cost, lead time, quality, regionalization, standardization, supply assurance, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Work with internal resources and packaging suppliers to achieve functional packaging goals.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Packaging
Experience/ Expertise:
Minimum of 3-5years of experience in a related field/environment.
Previous experience in Consumer, Chemical, sealants, paints, and adhesive Industries
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of automation systems
Good knowledge in Quality control procedures and techniques
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.)
Computer Literate
Driving License
