HPE/Aruba Engineering is seeking a talented hands-on Performance Engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced environment where both individual drive and team collaboration are the keys to success. Good opportunity for a solid performance tuning and Linux administrator to join a great team and have a direct impact on critical Aruba's EdgeConnect services. You will play a meaningful role in performance analysis, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimizing hardware, virtual and Cloud services running on Linux. The candidate should also be conceptually familiar with networking/TCP Stack. This position requires that you reside within a drivable distance from our San Jose Offices.
How You Will Make Your Mark:You will enable complex performance testing, monitoring, and tuning of Aruba's EdgeConnect systems to ensure system level objectives.
You will collaborate with Engineering to proactively troubleshoot performance related issues and provide input on implementation considerations to ensure good performance.
You will apply machine learning techniques to develop models which generate real time data analytics.
You will automate and maintain methods to deploy new testbeds in various Cloud platforms for performance testing.
You will manage day-to-day operations to ensure the performance testbeds are up and running smoothly.
You will enable new features and functionalities to testing frameworks like RFC2544.
About You:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Linux OS, including Kernel, User Space and Programming.
Experience with kernel optimization and virtualization technologies is preferable.
Strong troubleshooting skills and hands on knowledge of profiling/debugging/network traffic generating tools such as DTace, iperf, Nuttcp, Nmap, etc.
Proficiency in automation using Python, Terraform, and using PyTest to write unit-tests for new processes.
Usage experience with Testing and Infrastructure Automation tools like MySQL, Docker Swarm, Jenkins, Spirent, WAN Emulators.
Good communication skills, written and verbal, along with ability to communicate complex procedures.
Excellent organizational skills, along with ability to remain focused on completing tasks and meeting goals.
