Oracle Database Administrator

I. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Senior level Oracle DBA controls the activities related to database administration, planning and the establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to its management, security, maintenance and utilization.

II. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus
• Experienced in SQL tuning and Oracle diagnostics
• Install, monitor and support 12c, 18c, 19c and earlier Oracle Databases
• Familiarity in full life cycle support of appliances (Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA))
• Maintain PostgreSQL 10 and earlier database software
• Implement database backup and recovery processs, space management and executing DB release scripts
• Ability to install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Oracle GoldenGate replication technology
• Adhering to following the ticketing system and emails for day to day work in a multitasking fashion
• Some Unix and SQL scripting for DB maintenance jobs and Grid monitoring.
• Strong verbal/ written communication skills along with a customer focused attitude and ability to deal with Global clients
• Must be a good team player and be totally flexible with shift timings as per work demand.
• The candidate must be willing to provide on call support and routine weekend work demands
• Has a leadership potential, can assume responsibilities and make mature decisions
• Person will be carrying a mobile phone and able to respond to queries in a timely fashion
• Participate in a 24x7 support rotation
Oracle Specific Knowledge:
• Decent knowledge of Oracle database versions 12c, 18c and earlier on Unix/Linux platform.
• Solid background in Oracle Golden Gate 11g, 12c
• Good Knowledge in RAC, RMAN, ASM, Oracle Data Pump and Dataguard is a must.
• Knowledge of Oracle Appliances such as Exadata, ODA and ZFS
• Quick learner to pick up new Database technology with minimum guidance.
• Ability to translate user needs and projections into system hardware and/or software requirements
• Oracle Architect/Developer with operational experience

III. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
• Must have minimum of 10 years and above experience working as a Database Administrator
• Adheres to Company standards and methodology
• Adheres to company confidentiality, auditing and security requirements
• Consistently demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism
