Description
Emerson is looking for highly motivated individuals to join a global development team using state of the art technologies to deliver a next generation asset performance software platform. The team is designing and developing computer software systems whose software architecture is designed for the distributed enterprise using the latest technologies available. As Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will be responsible for designing and developing test suites and frameworks to improve the robustness, performance and scalability of our asset performance platform, to push the system to its limits and beyond.Responsibilities
Participate in task definition and project estimation
Understand and analyze existing software
Provide input for technical manuals and user documentation as required
Design, implement and execute automated tests (API, desktop and/or web apps)
Integrate test automations with CI/CD process (TeamCity, Jenkins, VSTS/Azure DevOps)
Collaborate with the team leads and developers to understand new functionality being delivered to ensure the validity of the test automation
Collaborate with other teams including Product Test, DevOps to maintain and grow test automation infrastructure
Investigate new technologies and tools, evaluate them for use in our products/tests
Follow the applicable product development processes and contribute to overall process improvement, including unit and integration and manual testing.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Software development experience using one or more of the following OO-related programming languages and framework: C#/.Net, C++
Experience with web applications leveraging one or more of the following technologies: Angular, HTML5, CSS, ASP.NET, WebSocket, SignalR preferred
Experience with test automation software targeting web and desktop applications
Experience with API testing
Experience designing and implementing test plans and scripts
Demonstrated knowledge of state-of-the-art software development methodologies and tools
Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging commercial software
Experience in white box testing preferred
Experience in Microsoft SQL Server preferred
Experience with version control systems such Team Foundation Server or Git preferred
Nice to Have Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services preferred
Experience with messaging technologies such as MSMQ, Azure Service Bus, or NServiceBus preferredProficient in advanced features of Azure DevOps, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
Infrastructure design, implementation and maintenance
Virtualization technologies - Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Firewall and Switch management
System monitoring and issue diagnosis
Scripting skills e.g. PowerShell, Python
MS SQL ServerExperience deploying Microsoft Web applications, Web services and Desktop applications using tools like Teamcity
Experience with creating and organizing test cases (prefer Microsoft Azure DevOps)
Advanced skill in Bug documentation and tracking (using Microsoft Azure DevOps)
Experience working with Agile product development Methodologies
Knowledge of network and servers.
Good Understanding of the Software Containers concepts
Good Understanding of the MS Azure (or other large-scale cloud provider) solutions
Good Interest in the cyber-security domain
Experience in asset performance software
