Job Description:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Creates user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java based components and interfaces. Designs and develops user interfaces to internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests. Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers. Other common tasks include:
• Reviewing current systems / software
• Prepare and produce releases of software components
• Working closely with product designers and quality assurance teams
• Managing / executing deployment into production and maintaining the systems once they are up and running Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Minimum Qualifications:
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND COMPETENCIES Proficient in Java with good knowledge of its ecosystem Solid understanding of Object-oriented programming Familiar with various designs and architectural patterns Skill for writing reusable Java libraries Knack for writing clean, readable and testable Java code Experience with both external and embedded databases (SQL) Creating database schemas that represent and support business process Familiarity with continuous integration / automation tools such as SoapUI Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
