Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Cloud Operations Manager, this role is responsible supporting the software development and infrastructure teams and their objectives through design, planning, maintenance, optimisation and implementation of database requirements for Cloud Property Management System.

Job Responsibilities:
Optimising database configuration
Developing and maintaining a backup and recovery process to meet RTO and RPO requirements
Maintaining and improving database security standards
Manage database access
On-going review and performance tuning of database systems
Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
Work with development team to review and optimise queries and database schema
Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors and performance problems
Recommend and implement emerging database technologies
Writing scripts as required to automatic repetitive tasks
Be available for on-call support as needed

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master’s degree qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role
Extensive experience with MySQL and / or MariaDB
Experience with SQL clustering technologies and HA database solutions
Experience with Linux
Experience with bash scripting
Extremely high attention to detail
Team focused with a proven ability to mentor and support colleagues
Effective and professional communication skills, both written and oral
Strong problem solver that is also practical, efficient and data-driven
Passion for what you do and a thirst for knowledge and continual learning
Ability to adapt and embrace change
