As a part of Nord Anglia Education, we set high standards in all areas of the school.To begin with, the role will be a temporary position up to 23rd June 2020, but could be extended after this period.Starting 24th April 2020, the successful candidate would be responsible for delivering high quality classroom music lessons to our eager students. The majority of teaching will be with students 3 to 9 years, so experience or a passion for working with this age group would be advantageous.Music is a vital part of school life here at Nord Anglia International School Manila. Students enjoy up to 2 hours of music lessons per week (depending on year group) as part of their regular school curriculum. As a British International School we base our provision on the UK National curriculum. The national curriculum for music aims to ensure that all students:
Perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians
Learn to sing and to use their voices, to create and compose music on their own and with others, have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, use technology appropriately and have the opportunity to progress to the next level of musical excellence
Understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated, including through the interrelated dimensions: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellence inside and outside the classroom, a passion for maximising children’s learning and a commitment to taking a full and active role in the school.Qualifications:Excellent pianist able to accompany students in recitals, examinations and other performance opportunities
Experience teaching in a classroom setting (15-25 students)
A willingness to engage in professional development in order to learn about the English National Curriculum
A passion for dramatic performance and musicals
A commitment to the highest possible performance standards
Experience working with choirs
A willingness and passion for developing the wider extra-curricular music opportunities for students
Approachable team player with excellent organization and communication skills
Music or Early Childhood Education Graduate, with valid PRC License as Professional Teacher is an advantage
An excellent level of spoken and written English
