Middle Cobol Engineer

We are growing and have an open position for a COBOL engineer.
Our client is a US-based company providing market-leading software (SaaS or On-Premise) and services (BPaaS) for Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid Plans. The solutions are designed to streamline operations and improve efficiencies for health insurance companies.
Requirements: Proficiency in COBOL for legacy code maintenance At least 3-5 years of relevant experience Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.English - at least B2 level Nice-to-have skills: Experience with or willingness to learn Java is a plus;Familiarity with frontend technologies, specifically Angular is a plus; Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance existing COBOL-based systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to legacy systems.Assist in the gradual migration of COBOL code to Java-based solutions.Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of internal processes.Document technical specifications and maintain up-to-date records of system changes.
