Job Description:
Job Summary




The Merchandiser maintains a continuous and evolving merchandise program for footwear, bags and accessories through effective and efficient merchandising, sustaining a realistic but apt timetable for store distribution, and acting proactively to hasten merchandise movement; to coordinate and monitor regional merchandising.




B. Duties and Responsibilities




1. Coordinates with Primer International Management, Ltd. (PIML) and other suppliers on orders.

2. Reviews product performance and recommends appropriate actions for effective inventory management while ensuring business profitability.

3. Prepares and analyzes monthly inventory data for management review and recommends action plans.

4. Leads product selection for season buys and prepares Purchase Order within set budget.

5. Coordinates with Importation, Accounting and Finance Departments in facilitating arrival of goods.

6. Ensures on-time availability of merchandise at doors and facilitates pre-delivery requirements including master file buildup, product briefs, price lists, product sampling and merchandise allocation.

7. Allocates and updates budget per product category based on trends, forecast, sales performances, stock movement, target market and general direction as determined by management.

8. Ensures purchases are made within the budget set according to sales plan and actual sales achievement.

9. Oversees the Associate Merchandiser’s correspondences with foreign suppliers from sampling to deliveries, and sees to it that the Associate Merchandiser negotiates for the best terms and maintains suppliers files.

10. Negotiates for MOQ, pricing and other concerns related to shipment of goods.

11. Maintains and updates purchases from files of various suppliers.

12. Reviews Purchase Order prepared by the Associate Merchandiser for the approval of Marketing & Sales Director and Chief Product Officer.

13. Recommends SRP based on pricing of existing styles and competitors’ pricing and computation done by the Associate Merchandiser.

14. Conducts product orientation and arrival updates to concerned parties.

15. Conducts discussion with Operations and Sales people on product feedback to gather product feedback monitors and evaluates the salability of ordered merchandise through store visits (customer feedback) and analysis of sales data (actual statistics).

16. Gathers/Receives feedback regarding defective merchandise and recommends action for slow-moving and defective merchandise.

17. Recommends and plans merchandise discounts and markdowns, subject to approval of Marketing & Sales Director.

18. Keeps abreast with new product lines in the market and checks competitors regularly for pricing and merchandising trends.

19. Attends and participates in regional meetings, trade shows or fairs.

20. Reviews coding, costing, and preparation of price lists prepared by the Associate Merchandiser.

21. Ensures that the Associate Merchandiser sets up and maintains sample/product data and works closely with product developers, merchandisers and suppliers to ensure accuracy of all item/style information.

22. Organizes, determines and maintains our regional and per country merchandising and optimize our regional purchases.

23. Maintains and ensures that regional and per country purchases are within budget duly approved by top management.

24. Participates in making regional and per country inventory and pricing decisions.

25. Sees to it that the Associate Merchandiser coordinates, distributes and maintains all purchase orders and shipments to ensure delivery to their respective destinations.

26. Monitors timely and accurate payment to suppliers

27. Orients country merchandisers on new product knowledge and merchandising procedures.

28. Updates regional and per country purchases for reference of each country

29. Streamlines and eliminates wastage in product sampling and development phases


Minimum Qualifications:
Qualification

1. College graduate of a four-year course preferably marketing graduate

2. With relevant work experience of at least two years


Training/Skills Requirement

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

2. Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

3. Computer literate
