THE ROLE
The Manager, Program & Participant Operations (MPPO) plays a key role in delivering a high-quality program and corps member experience through operational excellence. This person is responsible for matriculating CT’s incoming corps, ensuring this group of diverse leaders is prepared to secure teaching positions, managing key programs such as Americorps, and then supporting all operations related to the “in-service” corps member experience. The MPPO will exercise a diversity of skills each day ranging from relationship building, data management & reporting, strategy & planning, and leading on corps and partner communications. They will have a strong customer-service orientation, exceptional organizational ability, and project management skills. The work this person does directly facing corps members and behind the scenes ensures two things are true for corps members in Connecticut:

1) CMs complete a 2-year experience that develops them into actively anti-racist educators that positively impact the academic and personal growth of students they teach; and

2) CMs develop a life-long commitment to equity and activism that transcends their time in the classroom.

Lead Corps Member Operations & Events (40%)Design and manage the operational strategy for all corps member in-service programming
Lead day of execution of all corps member facing events and programming
Manage program team budget and monthly forecasting
In partnership with program team, design and manage all corps member facing communication
Provide operational capacity to program team through short- and long-term projects

CM Hiring Readiness & Operations (30%)Partner with MD, Program Impact and Experience and others to set vision and direction for corps member placement strategy
Design and execute corps member hiring readiness arc of development and create all required trainings and tools
Track, analyze, and respond to corps members hiring readiness task completion, inclusive of certification, to ensure they are ready to execute high quality interviews
Organize and manage the execution of hiring events and individual corps member interviews
In partnership with program team, design and manage all partner facing communication
Conduct thorough transcript reviews as part of the entry process for the corps member certification program
Lead regional progress in confirmation and matriculation of incoming corps members
Evaluate current systems and design new and/or improved systems and procedures to maximize efficiency and accuracy of admissions

Confirmation Campaign & AmeriCorps Program Management (20%)Design and manage the execution of regional matriculation and confirmation campaigns to inspire and build Connecticut’s corps
Ensure regional compliance with 100% of AmeriCorps Grant requirements and reporting
Enroll and manage AmeriCorps eligibility for all corps members through document collection and data entry
Act as regional liaison with National AmeriCorps & Recruitment Team

Contribute to Regional + Organizational Responsibilities (10%)Contribute to broader regional team, supporting cross functional initiatives and events.
Support organizational strategies such as CM selection.

THE MUST HAVES

Work Demands
This role requires occasional evening and weekend commitments.
Ability to travel to 1 – 2 conferences per year for professional development when public health allows.

Assigned permanent work location is our regional office located in New Haven, Connecticut. Ability to work remotely is determined at the discretion of your direct manager and Executive Director.

You will report directly to the Managing Director, Program Impact and Experience and work closely with the entire program team. You will also work with the development and operations and learning team in the region. The Connecticut regional team is focused on ensuring that the 120,000 students growing up in poverty in our state can learn and grow in a reimagined education system that was designed for their success. We are structured to be closely connected to our partners, students, and families, while leveraging our state-wide network to drive innovation, learning, and collective action.
