The opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Procurement Operations & AP, the Manager, Accounts Payable will lead a transactional team to oversee the efficient, timely and accurate payments processing to vendors. They will play an integral role in ensuring all aspects related to administrative vendor account management are achieved seamlessly. The Manager, Accounts Payable will strive to continuously improve the overall processing throughput capacity and accuracy to meet (and exceed) key operational metrics, month end close deadlines and SOX compliance at increasing scale. Lastly, the incumbent will support efforts to strengthen the requisitioning experience for buyers across the company.
You are great at:
Managing a team of administrative staff responsible for timely, up to date and accurate invoice processing and all aspects of administration for a portfolio of vendorsAdhering to tight AP month end close schedules, as necessary.Collaborating with the global Procurement department to ensure compliance of the Source to Pay processes as outlined in the Approvals and Authority policyEnsuring all internal, external, corporate and statutory audit requirements are addressedEnsuring the appropriate internal controls are in place to prevent erroneous or fraudulent expense reporting by developing and maintaining policies and procedures documentsImplementing best practices to drive quality and efficiencyFacilitating the swift integration of all Accounts Payables processes for new acquisitionsCollaborating with colleagues and key stakeholders to identify processing issues, designing and implementing related solutions with strong controls to ensure operations remain streamlined in a continuous improvement environmentWorking collaboratively with co-workers to build effective relationships to achieve common company goals and objectivesImparting core knowledge while continually mentoring, guiding and supporting team membersSupporting other initiatives as required to deliver on the S2P mandate
What it takes:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business or similar10+ years of Accounts Payable experience preferably in a global software services/high tech environment10+ years of managing a staff of 5 or more in a processing environmentCustomer service focused and a team player, with a culture of learning together mindset with peers and leadersExperience in SAP, Invoice Scanning and Ticketing systems considered an assetStrong working knowledge of Accounting principles, GAAP and SOX controlsExpert knowledge of MS office skills, specifically MS ExcelDemonstrated success at high level analytical, critical thinking and organization skillsMust be self-motivated, flexible, deadline-oriented and focused on delivery as agreed toStrong leadership and proven track record of successfully driving positive change, and ability to analyze processes and implement improvementsExceptional verbal and written communication skills with all levels, both internally and externallyExcellent problem solving, analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to drive actions/recommendations and meet deliverablesGlobal mindset required, global experience an advantage
