Job Summary: Plans and coordinates warehousing and transportation in the distribution chain.
Responsible for coordinating the movement of goods in the company, making sure that the right number of goods ordered is moved to the right locations and to the right persons at the scheduled time.
To work in this position effectively, the manager will need to find good vehicle and negotiate with drivers or transportation companies who will convey the goods for the best prices obtainable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures for all company warehouses nationwide.
2. Complies with local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
3. Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
4. Safeguards warehouse operations and maintain physical warehouse condition by planning and implementing design layouts, inspecting equipment and issuing work orders for repairs and replacement.
5. Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling of expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
6. Liaise with transportation companies to create a good working relationship and negotiations for the transportation of goods.
7. Give clear directions and guidelines to shipping agents about the nature of goods and delivery locations, and maintain communication with them to ensure that goods are not damaged on transit.
8. Keep records of all shipping activities, documenting procedures, guidelines and changes in procedures of reference purposes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor?s degree holder of Business, Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
Must have at least 12 years of experience in Logistics, 5 years of which in a managerial capacity.
Must have hands on experience in warehousing management software, preferably SAP.
With proven expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices gained from FMCG, shipping or similar industries.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Applicants must be willing to work in Novaliches,Quezon City.
Preferably Assistant Manager / Managers specializing in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent.
