Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for one nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) position in the Inclusive Education Department that begins August 2020.
The TESOL programs are grounded in a student-centered and asset-based conceptual framework that emphasizes equity/social justice and access, language and culture, family and community engagement, teacher inquiry, and critical reflexivity. The successful candidate will teach students enrolled in the TESOL graduate programs and/or TESOL courses in undergraduate P-12 teacher preparation programs beginning in the fall of 2020. The lecturer will also teach the equivalent of 15 credit hours or five 3-credit courses each semester (the specific courses will be determined by the lecturer’s degree, educational experience, and departmental needs). Courses are taught online, blended, and face-to-face. Service to the department/college is expected. This position reports to the Chair of the Inclusive Education Department.
Master’s degree in TESOL or closely related field (e.g., bilingual education, applied linguistics, additional language acquisition, additional language literacy, or curriculum and instruction through at least 18 graduate credit hours of coursework) or its foreign equivalent is required.
Commitment to equity and social justice in education.
Experience teaching English to multilingual learners in P-12 settings.
Proficiency with technology to support (online, blended, and face-to-face) teaching.
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment.

Ideal qualifications or this position include:
Specialist degree or EdD/PhD in TESOL or closely related field or its foreign equivalent,
Background in both first and additional language and/or literacy,
Familiarity and/or experience with multiple language program models (e.g. two-way immersion, developmental bilingual education, collaborative teaching models, etc.),
Teaching and collaboration at the university level,
Teaching, instructional leadership or supervisory experience in P-12 schools or other educational contexts.
