Lead Software Engineer

Lexagle is a Singapore headquartered legal tech startup which is looking to hire a Lead Software Engineer based in its office in Makati, Philippines. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience building web apps, is highly passionate about user experience, quick to adapt to changes, and keeps up to date on web technologies.

Responsibilities
Build customer-facing apps for the Lexagle platform
Translate mockups and prototypes into working code
Work closely with UX designer to continuously improve user experience
Build clean, maintainable, flexible APIs

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
7+ years of software development experience
Proficiency in fundamental front-end languages, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Proficiency in one or more JVM languages, e.g., Java, Kotlin, Scala, Groovy
Good working knowledge of RDBMS, e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
Takes the initiative to learn and build expertise

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with modern JS libraries / frameworks, e.g., React, Angular, Vue
Familiarity with JVM libraries / framework, e.g., Spring, Hibernate, JPA
Experience with NoSQL databases
Experience with REST / GraphQL
Experience with responsive and adaptive design
Experience building cross-platform apps
Experience with event-driven and messaging systems
Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
