About the role

We seek a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Lead Communications and Engagement who will be responsible for below:
- To strategize, develop, execute and continuously improve a tailored, fit for purpose Communications and Engagement strategy and plan for Global Asset Services (GAS) in all global locations that we currently operate in (for approximately 2000 employees in multiple shifts).
- To drive and deliver organization wide mandates, business updates, and global communications in a transparent and seamless manner for all GAS employees, utilizing the most appropriate channels.
- Develop, implement and drive a Corporate Social Responsibility framework and plan, for GAS through strategic partnerships with local non-government agencies with the purpose of engaging employees in charitable and community related activities and events aligned with the global BHP Social Investment Framework.
- Collaborate with global and regional communications and corporate affairs teams to expand the visibility of GAS and its contributions to the business through a wide range of internal/ external communication channels, enabling and maintaining a 2-way feedback mechanism that is sustainable.
- Own and drive content and the utilization of social media and other channels for showcasing our brand, culture and working environment in local communities.
- Lead & Collaborate within GAS functions on GAS center culture focus area, capability needs & priorities implement and lead the planned activities for the center.

Core Accountabilities
- Demonstrates and instils an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development
- Demonstrates commitment to the BHP Charter and Code of Business Conduct
- Leads and effectively implements the overall culture action plan and cross function capability program for GAS centres in KL and Manila (measured by overall EPS improvement in focus areas aligned and prioritised annually)
- Strategizes, continuously innovates and implements the communications and engagement strategy primarily for GAS KL & Manila, considering insights on function priorities and needs and paying attention to local cultural nuances while aligning with overall global priorities Develops and leads effective GAS communications and engagement team to execute the communications strategy associated plans and events consistent with culture and values
- Collaborates with global and regional key stakeholders, including external affairs and corporate communications team to drive on-going alignment with company-wide mandates and frameworks
- Develop and implement the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy for GAS KL & Manila
- Forge and sustain long-term partnerships with local NGOs in KL and Manila for CSR activities that align with the global BHP Social Investment Framework
- Deliver CSR activities that provide opportunities for employee engagement, contribution to our local communities and positive branding in KL and Manila.
- Accountable for overall development and execution of calendar of events for GAS KL and Manila through the Communications and Engagement team and SPARKS (social and recreational committee run by volunteers in GAS), that is comprehensive, spaced out and relevant to the needs of the GAS community
- Provides positive leadership and mentoring for SPARKS volunteers in the organising and delivering of events in GAS and creates an environment where volunteers are motivated and inspired to be part of SPARKS and has capability to contribute
- Stays connected across all levels of the organization across locations to be updated on the pulse of the organization and incorporates insights into the culture plans and activities.
- Collaborate with the Change and Creative Services team for the design of GAS promotional materials including posters, videos, animations and flyers.
- Drafts and delivers communications during emergencies and disasters and is a member of the GAS Incident Management Team
- Leads and delivers communications activities and interventions related to the GAS cultural plan for KL and Manila
- Develops and delivers a communications and engagement plan for GAS KL and Manila to address key areas for improvement on an annual basis upon announcement of global Employee Perception Survey results
- Aligns the functions to effectively manage change and communications deliverables wherever required, this includes providing input into the development of internal functional communications (e.g. town halls, newsletters) as well as key project and milestone communications, including presentations, emails, videos and memos
- Acts as the principle contact for Corporate Affairs and Corporate Communications teams to seek company-wide strategic direction and validation of communication plans and artefacts as required; support Corporate Affairs and Corporate Communications teams in the identification, planning and execution of external communications (e.g. sponsorship, industry events / presentations, branding interventions) wherever required.
- Develops and implements the social media strategy for GAS and other relevant channels as applicable
- Keeps abreast with latest trends in communications and social media to ensure content on our platforms remain current, and achieves our objectives to attract the right talent while creating and maintaining a positive brand impact.
- Collaborate within GAS functions on GAS centre culture focus area, implement and lead the planned activities for the centre.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the communications and engagement strategy and plans by engaging with impacted stakeholders for regular feedback.
- Utilise organizational capability frameworks and global development programs (i.e. safe to speak up, step-up) to foster leading behaviours.
- Coaches and mentors team members.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent education required

Experience and Technical Competencies:
- 10 + years of change leadership roles in complex transformation and simplification projects, ideally in an MNC shared services environment.
- Development of strategy change management plans, including communications, stakeholder engagement, and workforce transition and training activities.
- Development and execution of detailed knowledge transfer programs, leveraging a variety of modes and methods including remote training.
- Experience on large-scale change projects, ideally company-wide, global system/process implementations.
- Experience in the day to day planning, monitoring and reporting of integrated cross-Horizon/Phase project activities, deliverables and status
- Experience in effectively managing people both direct and indirect teams

Languages:
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written
- Spanish skills would be an added advantage
