Laboratory Technician

Duties and ResponsibilitiesIs responsible for the testing, recording, and certifying of the quality of materials before they are to be incorporated into the project
Must be present before and during pouring of Portland Cement Concrete Pavements (PCCP) and paving of asphalt projects to inspect the quality of materials to be used, to monitor the quality of work, and to obtain samples for testing
Will be responsible for the preparation of samples (Concrete Beams and Cylinders) and ensuring proper curing for testing
Will mainly be based at the construction site to inspect the materials and site conditions
Ensure the proper storage of materials on site
Will go to the client’s office (usually DPWH region or district offices) for the submission of relevant paper works
Will supervise laboratory aides during the collection and testing of samples
Ensure that testing equipment and tools are kept in proper condition

Job QualificationsMust be a college graduate, preferably B.S. Civil Engineering
Must be willing and quick to learn
Must be able to read and write
Dependable and reliable
