As the Knowledge Management (KM) Designer, you will serve a critical role in our business by understanding the internal and external Informational sharing needs. You will be responsible for a wide variety of activities related to identifying, managing, packaging and disseminating key information and resources to help advance and support Global Service Delivery (GSD) in Knowledge Management and Information Sharing needs. As KM designer you will serve as the primary contact for various departments and will help guide driving key programs and major initiatives that are in line with the GSD KM strategy.The successful employee in this role will provide guidance and training on KM services, output, systems and all aspects of day-to-day KM operations. They will also assist the KM Manager in executing and further improving the KM Service Delivery.Goals will be accomplished thru designing, maintaining and/or developing documents, reference documents, Other work products and externally-sourced documents into the Knowledge Management platforms. Creating or updating content for the Help Systems and/or internal websites and SharePoint sites. You will need to be creative and able to design content that really grasps the reader’s attention so as to maximize the absorption of the message being communicated.Working in coordination with the KM Manager, the KM Designer will assume responsibility for the following: Serve as Subject Matter Experts in terms of KM service delivery and processes as well as KM systems and applications used. Ensure quality of KM output and deliverables through regular reviews. Assist the KM Manger in executing and further improving the KM Service Delivery Model and establish a KM Center of Excellence for GSD. Ensure content is designed/updated on time, on budget, and according to specifications. Update websites and knowledge management sites with current information, making information easy to find and use Coordinate across the platforms to ensure that posted information is accurate, accessible and with the correct access controls in place Enhancing and maintaining SharePoint sites, content management, knowledge management distribution, permission management, account management as well as designing, customizing, and maintaining SharePoint lists, libraries, web parts and workflows. Evaluate all incoming requests to determine timelines and delivery methods. Apply expertise in KM tools and deploy information management and content management strategies and expertise.
Follow development standards and ensure compliance on all content materials.
Ability to synthesize material into narrative for publications and dissemination to broader audiences. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Proof read communications and suggest improvements, should there be any. Creating communications that are complete, concise, clear, correct, considered, courteous and concrete.
Minimum Qualifications 3+ years’ work experience in Knowledge Management or Web design and SharePoint.
Ability to manage responsibilities and priorities in a fast-paced and time-critical environment Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong technical writing skills Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Exceptionally strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, adhere to budgets, and meet deadlines Strong team player who can work effectively in a distributed team environment and ability to work with a virtual team Excellent computer skills in MS Office applications; knowledge of HTML/CSS and ability to learn technology quickly Experience using learning software such as Dreamweaver and SharePoint Designer Prior experience managing internal and external relationships to achieve goals, meet deadlines, and support company initiatives. Excellent people/interpersonal skills and teambuilding skills
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information, Communication, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in Databases and Website connections Experience in Knowledge Management / Content Management systems and knowledge of CSS and HTML. Experience in Scripting Languages –i.e. JavaScript, VBScript, PHP, ASP etc.
