Job Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Basic Food Prep
arrives early to organize the kitchen and do food prep to streamline cooking and meal presentation washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables mixing ingredients for dishes cutting and seasoning meats Meal Presentation
organizes customers’ plates before the wait staff bring the final product to the customer. Knows the day’s meals and menus and understand what each dish calls for before delivery Stock Kitchen and Storeroom
Works with management and head cooks to receive, stack, and properly store food in kitchens, cold storage, and storerooms Transfer food and supplies to the kitchen as needed Cleaning Duties
Ensures all areas of the kitchen, food prep, and food storage areas are clean and properly sanitized Washes dishes and cooking equipment, cleans floors, sanitizes countertops and cutting boards, and maintains all areas to health code standards Kitchen Setup and Breakdown
Turns on the lights and grills, starts kitchen prep work, and prepares the kitchen and customer areas for service (when first to arrive) Puts food and dishes away, cleans and mops the floors, and turns off all ovens, stoves, and other cooking equipment (when last to leave) Minimum Qualifications:
Education : at High School Graduate Experience : preferably with relevant work experience in food service Qualifications: Dependable – reliable, on time for work, and consistent with the good work performance Possesses physical stamina – can on their feet for the duration of their shifts, around scheduled breaks, and in kitchens that may be uncomfortably warm Excellent Customer service – can interact with customers, willingly listen to and assist customers with their requests Facility with kitchen equipment – able to work safely and effectively with all kitchen equipment Team player – able to take direction from the kitchen supervisors and facility managers and is willing to assist other team members to get their jobs done
