JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a university degree or equivalent in accountancy, business administration, human resources or other related disciplines
- Significant relevant experience in compliance, internal control or audit, involving international field work/assignments specializing in the field of human resources, finance
and administration, and logistics
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Dynamic and results driven yet able to work well independently or as part of a team
- Flexible and able to travel in any context
- Good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with all levels within the organization
- Fluent command of written and spoken English; Knowledge of other languages is an asset
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts targeted risk-based site visits (spot checks) to assess the implementation and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance mechanisms; Provides risk and
compliance related report results to management along with recommendations for further improvement; Ensures followup
May also conduct walk throughs to evaluate the effectiveness of internal control design on selected processes or projects; Document findings and report identified
deficiencies and gaps
- Guides, advises and monitors internal control system across specific areas of activities in scope, in order to mitigate identified risks
- Participates in strengthening the ICRC’s lines of defense, in close cooperation with Support Units,
- Compliance Units, Internal Audit, the Global Compliance Office and other Compliance offices
- Contributes to the further development and improvement of test plans
