The Role:The Indexes Client Service & Implementation team seeks an enthusiastic, results-driven Indexes Client Service & Implementation Specialist to help advance our index products in the Asia Pacific region. This role will be based in Japan and interact extensively with clients and sales and lead index data implementation. This role will become an expert in Morningstar’s Index data offering and will work closely with sales, product management, technology and operations. The role reports globally to the Director of Client Service & Implementation, Indexes; and locally through the Client Solutions organization.
Job Responsibilities
• Work cross-functionally with various Morningstar teams to manage all aspects of Index implementation to support clients and sales in the Asia Pacific region
• Be the subject matter expert on all Indexes delivery channels and options, and be able to find the best fit solution for the client
• Lead qualifying, contracting, and onboarding for Morningstar Indexes data clients
• Work with Indexes Licensing Manager on licensing requests for current and potential Morningstar Index Clients
• Be the single point of contact for and execute on client implementation and deliveries, and work with Indexes team members to resolve any issues that may arise
• Support business development and product management teams for client meeting preparation and sales follow-ups
• Support current and potential clients, especially in product launch collaterals
• Translate and maintain local language indexes product collaterals and marketing materials as required
• Provide client service and serve as a backup for the global Indexes client service team for the region when required
• Utilize Morningstar Software to compare our Index offering to competitors and recommend index solutions as required
Qualifications
• Fluency in English and Japanese
• At least three (3) to five (5) years of professional work experience, ideally in a client-facing role
• Strong interpersonal skills, and enjoys building relationship
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Work well cross functionally and globally
• Self-motivated and willing to take ownership of new responsibilities
• Curious and enjoys problem solving
• A pro-active and positive attitude and a team player
• Experience in financial markets or services
• Interested in learning more about Indexes and investing
Nice to have
• Fluency in either one or many of the following languages –Korean, Chinese or Cantonese
• Knowledge of Morningstar Direct and Morningstar Data, not required but nice to have
• Technical skills and experience like SQL, Python, AWS, not required but nice to have
• Progress towards CFA designation, not required but nice to have
