About Global Valuation Group
The Global Valuation Group specifically deals with complex and structured trades across different asset classes to ensure all aspects of the trades are captured correctly within the risk and valuation systems, accurately reflecting the complete terms of the executed legal documentation. The review is a crucial control mechanism for exotics derivative trades within Corporate Investment Bank.
Role Description
As a Valuation Specialist, you will support the team from a process and technology perspective, improving the overall landscape. You will demonstrate detailed understanding of the Credit Derivatives Structured products as well as Trade Services and Financial Services processes that support the various Exotic desks globally. You will perform full documents review against Models and Trade Capture system, initial investigations of breaks, determining whether the trades should be amended in risk model or booking and allocate to owners.You will work closely with stakeholders to identify the root cause of breaks, and to implement process improvements to eliminate them. You will challenge inefficient or poorly controlled trade booking practices.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this role is highly analytical, organized, and can work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-risk environment. The role mainly deals with mathematical risk models, market valuations and review of legal documentation, hence a degree in Math, Statistics, Financial Engineering or Actuarial Sciende, and/or a background in structured complex products like Credit Derivatives is preferred. Experience working effectively with trading, finance and model valuation teams is of advantage.Investigation and problem resolution skills and attention to details are essential.
