The Department of Criminal Justice at Radford University invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure track position at the rank of instructor (for candidates without a Ph.D.) or assistant professor (for candidates with Ph.D.), beginning August 10, 2020. This position is for one academic year, and thus does not carry a guarantee of reappointment for subsequent years. Successful candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and utilize innovative teaching strategies. Research activity is not expected for this position. For this position, the department seeks a candidate with demonstrated ability to teach a variety of undergraduate criminal justice courses, and most notably courses in Constitutional law and prelaw courses and/or required courses for the criminal justice major (i.e., introduction to criminal justice, police and society, courts and criminal process, corrections, diversity issues in criminal justice, crime and criminal behavior, and/or research methods in criminal justice).
All candidates must have at least 18 hours of graduate credit in criminology or criminal justice to be considered. Successful candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and utilize innovative teaching strategies. For this position, the department seeks a candidate with demonstrated ability to teach a variety of undergraduate criminal justice courses, and most notably courses in Constitutional law and prelaw courses and/or required courses for the criminal justice major (i.e., introduction to criminal justice, police and society, courts and criminal process, corrections, diversity issues in criminal justice, crime and criminal behavior, and/or research methods in criminal justice).
