Review initial fitout design project schedule to ensure they are achievable and sufficient resources are available
Maintain design schedules that meet production requirements
Ensure fitout design schedule deliverable meet due dates for each project (drawings, Requisitions, and MTO info)
Resolve fitout issues as they arise
Identify schedule risks and implement mitigation action. Where risks cannot be mitigated, identify this to PDA/AP Project Lead/Project team
Ensure proposed design are fit for their intended purpose
Ensure design complies with the vessel technical specifications
Ensure client requirement are met (Where client requested requirement exceed vessel specification, advise the project manager (cc DM) for project decision.
Drawing in line with Austal design/production standards
Ensure design complies with requirement of IMO High Speed Craft Code
Ensure design complies with fire certification requirements (IMO FTP Code etc.)
Ensure design complies with requirement of assigned classification society
Ensure design meets other relevant local flag state requirements i.e. IMO Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), hygiene, liquote etc.
Fitout design in compliance with other applicable international standard
Monitor and ensure design checks are undertakenby team to ensure fitness for purpose, quality and technical compliance requirements are met
Lead, motivate, train and empower design team to improve capability and competence in assigned tasks
Monitor deliverable progress and provide technical guidance as required to team members
Develop and maintain a consistent fit-out design approach of different projects
Designate fit-out team members to update Guidelines and Checklists to improve the efficiency of the fit-out design process.
Daily Coordination with Production and SCM for accurate fit-out materials and cost estimates to support budgets.
Daily coordination (verbally and via email) with Austal Australia fitout design lead, who undertake the basic fitout design.
A Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Architectural or Civil)
5+ years’ experience as an Outfit Engineer/Fit-Out Designer in the commercial shipbuilding industry with excellent working knowledge of aluminium construction methodology
Has 1+ year experience managing other people
2+ years’ experience with AUTOCAD 11/18
Competent with MS OFFICE, WORD, EXCEL
3d Studio (or similar package) would be useful, but not essential
Willing to work in West Cebu Industrial Park Arpili, Balamban, Cebu
