DescriptionThe position exists for the purpose of providing excellent financial service to Business Unit Headquarters of Emerson Automation Solutions Asia Pacific, serves as an extension of the BU’s finance team in Singapore. Responsible in the consolidation, preparation and review of various monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and requirements of APHQ and BUHQ; periodic HFM financials close; analysis and reconciliation of various Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts; ensuring that all Asia sites comply with the standard financial reporting requirements of their BU USHQ. Applying Emerson Internal Controls and Corporate Policies & Procedures. Works closely with Asia Pacific BU sites in identifying, analyzing and resolving reports/accounts related issues. The FA may be requested to provide onsite support to BU HQ as the needs arise.ResponsibilitiesDuty 1: Hyperion Financial Management - Financial Data Reporting (for Flash, Actuals, POR, Product Group and KOB)
Extracts/generates quantitative information from databases using standard report templates. (Oracle, BBBI, JDE and QlickView for Actualized data and Management Book/POR System for Expected results)
Cleans extracted data using pre-defined guidelines or instructions.
Formats extracted data based on expected report output. (multiple data formatting requirements)
Categorizes and segments extracted data using tools to convert data to information relevant to the report (excel, macro, database)
Calculates extracted data from multiple resources using standard financial tools (BU/HQ Orders & Sales, P&L accounts).
Propose adjustments to accurately report orders and sales details. Follow through to ensure proposed corrective actions are implemented.
Analyze and validates variances to identify reason for variances and possible actions to eliminate and/or justify the variances.
Tracks corrective and preventive actions to ensure they are closed in a timely manner.
Upload validated numbers to HFM system. Run the HFM system consolidation.
Analyze and validates imbalances between the desired numbers and system generated data.
Analyzes gathered information & data using descriptive analytics, trend analysis of current numbers against expected numbers.
Creates reports based on EMR standard financial templates
Duty 2: Financial Period Close and Consolidation in Hyperion Financial Management SystemConsolidates and standardize site financial data into Hyperion System (BU HQ Level)
Generates test reports to validate Business Unit-sites' compliance with the standard financial reporting requirements of USHQ and EMR.
Analyze and validates to identify reason for variances and possible actions to eliminate discrepancies and/or justify the exemptions.
Tracks previously identified corrective and preventive actions to ensure they are closed in a timely manner.
Validation of financial data through sense check, variance and trend analysis, through sites and BU communication and use of other financial data available.
Analyzes gathered information & data using descriptive analytics, trend analysis of current numbers against expected numbers.
Assist Asia Pacific sites in basic HFM troubleshooting based on updated manuals and guidance from Financial Systems Leadership Center.
Duty 3: Operations and Financial ReportingExtracts/generates quantitative information from databases using standard report templates. (Oracle, BBBI, JDE and QlickView for Actualized data and Management Book/POR System for Expected results, HFM)
Consolidates Business Unit’s financial data and standardize reports from different data sources.
Analyzes gathered information & data using descriptive analytics, trend analysis of current numbers against expected numbers.
Analyzes gathered information & data using diagnostic analytics by identifying the issue, what causes it, its impact to operation, how to mitigate its impact, identification of possible solutions.
Creates reports based on EMR standard financial reporting templates.
RequirementsEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or any Accounting related degree
Certified Public Accountant
Job Related Experience:2 years combined experience in financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, general ledger, general accounting, intercompany accounting, fixed assets and inventory, financial statements preparation and audit.
Specific Knowledge:Practical knowledge of Enterprise resource planning (i.e., Hyperion Financial Management System, JD Edwards, Oracle)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of Generally-accepted accounting principles and Financial Accounting Standard Board regulation
