Role Summary/Purpose
The ERP Lead II is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing and supporting medium complexity and sized ERP applications. The ERP Lead II will implement new, and maintain and enhance existing functionality for ERP core modules and will work closely with the end users to ensure that this functionality is used effectively. The ERP Lead II will work with business, technical and functional team members, including the GE IT teams, to accomplish the design, configuration, coding, testing, and implementation of new applications to satisfy business needs.
Essential Function
Work with functional leaders to define processes and high level requirements and then translate them into automated solutions in the ERP system, using existing functionality where possible
Design applications and solutions by following FieldCore’s/GE’s implementation metholodgy and standards, including creating and communicating the functional and technical design documentation
Work with functional and technical team members, including GE IT team members, to develop and configure applications and solutions according to the design documentation, including new solutions, enhancements, custom functionality and application integrations
Prepare, conduct and manage system and unit testing to ensure new solutions, enhancements, patches and fixes, and product updates work properly according to specification with documented test results
Prepare, deliver and manage end user training, including refresher/remedial training to address situations where exsiting system functionality is not being used optimally.
Coordinate and perform production release/cutover activities such as code migrations and data conversions as necessary to support project timelines and operations schedules
Lead and coordinate the resolution of system related business problems and systems issues on a daily basis by working with internal and external functional and technical resources
Identify and reecommend enhancements and additions to the ERP application to improve the systems integrity, ease of use and to increase productivity as appropriate
Work with the GE IT teams as appropriate to incorporate identified enhancements and additions into the roadmap and release schedule for GE owned applications
Act as the FieldCore representative on projects/releases for GE owned applications and ensure that FieldCore’s requirements and needs are addressed
Serve as the liason between the FieldCore business teams and the GE IT teams and ensure that the impact to FieldCore of all functional changes, updates and outages are considered and communicated for GE owned applications
Lead and direct various resources from business and system related groups, both internal and external, to ensure the required outcome is achieved.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in technical/related field (Master’s degree a plus)
8+ years’ experience in ERP implementation (preferably SAP)
English proficiency
Effective communication skills both verbal and written
Some travel required
Desired Characteristics
Experience in multiple full lifecycle ERP implementation projects (preferably SAP)
Strong understanding of core FI-CO functionality (GL, AR, AP, cost center accounting, profit center accounting etc.). Knowledge of project accounting and integration to Project Systems (PS)
Strong understanding of Treasury functionality (incl. bank setup, exchange rates, bank statement processing etc.)
Strong understanding of tax functionality including tax reporting
Strong understanding of underlying tables and ability to custom extracts using SQVI/SE16N etc
Strong Excel skills and ability to build ad-hoc reports/analyses
Knowledge of IDOCs and ability to troubleshoot and resolve IDOC issues (esp. related to incoming payment advices)
Knowledge of core MM purchasing, especially invoice verification and AP payments preferred.
